Dr. Pusic's clinical focus is breast reconstruction. Her approach to care focuses on optimizing quality of life for her patients and working with them to choose the surgical procedures that best fit their lifestyle and medical/aesthetic goals. As a researcher, she investigates how surgical experiences affect patients' well-being. The BREAST-Q tool she developed is used around the world to help surgeons evaluate how women feel about their breast surgery.

Dr. Broyles' clinical interests include reconstructive microsurgery, with a focus on oncoplastic and microsurgical breast surgery as well as head and neck reconstruction. As a researcher, he is investigating how to improve clinical outcomes for cancer reconstruction patients and how best to utilize resources in health care delivery.

Dr. Carty's clinical focus areas include complex reconstruction of the breasts and upper/lower limbs. His research involves developing new approaches to restore breast and extremity function in the setting of trauma, cancer or congenital conditions, with an emphasis on improving function and reducing pain.
Benjamin P. Christian, MD

Dr. Christian, who practices primarily out of Providence, Rhode Island, focuses on offering a full range of care that improves his patients' appearance or function, including hand surgery, cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, body contouring and wound care. His research interests include investigating differences between community hospitals and academic centers in the delivery of hand and plastic surgery care. He is also studying the benefits and outcomes of oncoplastic breast reshaping and reduction at the time of lumpectomy.

Jessica Erdmann-Sager, MD

Dr. Helliwell focuses on treating the hand and lower arm and holds a subspecialty certificate in hand surgery. She specializes in addressing nerve, tendon and bony injuries of the hand and wrist, peripheral nerve injuries and compression, complex upper and lower extremity reconstruction and the management of sarcoma and other oncologic concerns. Dr. Helliwell enjoys developing long-term relationships with patients and engaging in the complex problem-solving involved in reconstructive surgery. Her research focuses on assessment in graduate medical education, microsurgical simulation and orthoplastic reconstruction of the upper and lower extremity after trauma and cancer surgery.
Dennis Paul Orgill, MD, PhD

Dr. Orgill focuses on complex adult reconstructive procedures, including wound healing. In addition to his surgical expertise, he holds a PhD in medical engineering from MIT and runs a tissue engineering and wound healing laboratory at the Brigham. Dr. Orgill's research focuses on developing better technologies to treat wounds, including working with artificial skin, micromechanical forces, platelets and stem cells. He has consulted with several medical device and startup companies and is the inventor on several patents.
Kavitha Ranganathan, MD

As a researcher, she focuses on increasing access to care in resource-limited environments and addressing the burden of catastrophic expenditures in low- and middle-income countries.
Christian Edward Sampson, MD

Dr. Sampson holds a subspecialty certification in hand surgery and specializes in a full range of hand and upper extremity conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, epicondylitis, tendon repairs/transfers and nerve repair. He further specializes in complex hand microsurgery in the management of vascular compromise of the hand. Dr. Sampson's practice philosophy is to ensure each patient fully understands their diagnosis and treatment plan and to be readily available throughout the course of treatment. His research interests include the use of botulinum A toxin to manage digital ischemia and Raynaud's disease.

Simon G. Talbot, MD

Dr. Talbot holds a subspecialty certification in hand surgery and has a particular interest in hand and upper extremity trauma, cutaneous oncologic reconstruction, abdominal and perineal reconstruction and body contouring surgery. Dr. Talbot's research interests include upper extremity transplantation, nerve regeneration optimization, psychosocial aspects of major extremity surgery and device development. He is funded by the U.S. Department of Defense and runs research in collaboration with surgeons at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences.
